The Arlington County Center for Urban Design & Research has announced a Call for Entries for the 2013 DESIGNArlington Awards. DESIGNArlington is a biennial awards program that recognizes distinctive architectural, historic preservation, landscape and public art projects that enhance Arlington’s built environment. Projects can be private residences, commercial structures, or public buildings. Previous winners include such places as the Signature Theatre, Northside Social, and the Gleason/Pries residence. Members of the Arlington Planning Commission’s Site Plan Review Committee (SPRC) will be holding a meeting on Monday, September 30, to discuss proposed redevelopments in Arlington. The second part of that meeting, from 8:30 to 10 pm, will cover the Blue Goose, the building owned by Marymount University at 1000 N. Glebe Road.
