Introducing Arlington’s newest Local Historic: Cambridge Courts located at 2401-2813 Arlington Blvd in Arlington’s Lyon Park neighborhood. This is the third garden apartment complex designated a local historic district, joining Colonial Village and Buckingham. Cambridge Courts is a complex of 20 Colonial (Georgian) Revival-styled buildings and identified as contributing to the Lyon Park National Register Historic District. On February 2, 1959 four young black students entered Stratford Junior High School, beginning the integration of Arlington County schools. And so went the rest of the state. On February 2, 2016, all four of these students will return to Arlington County and Stratford for a community event sponsored by Arlington Public Schools. Michael G. In December 2015, a total of nineteen (19) demolition permits were applied for in Arlington County. Sixteen were for single-family homes and three for commercial buildings. Three of the sixteen homes are in South Arlington. Only one home is located in a National Register Historic District — 705 North Kenmore Street is in the Ashton Heights National Register Historic District.
