In September there were a total of eight demolition permits applied for in Arlington County. All of them were for single family homes. Six of them are located in North Arlington and two in South Arlington. 66% (6 of 9) of the applications are speculative developments. September applications range greatly from 21 (2014) to 11 (2019). To mark the community kick off of the Arlington County Historic Preservation Master Plan (HPMP) update, the Historic Preservation Program (HPP) is holding a “Capture Your Heritage!” photo competition. The Historic Preservation Master Plan (HPMP) update will begin next month with a virtual Kick Off meeting. For more details, click here. This HPMP was last updated in 2006 and quite a bit has changed in Arlington since that time. Not just in the built environment but also with the County Government.
