In late 2020 the County went “live” with a new permitting system. In such demolition permits are tracked differently and we are still catching up to the new system. In March a total of six demolition permits were applied for in Arlington County. Four were for single family homes and two were for commercial properties. In Arlington County there are just over 40 locally designated historic districts; 13 of which are single family homes; and, only 10 of those are in private hands. One of of those 10 is now for SALE. It is a locally protected historic resource. The Eastman-Fenwick was built in 1876 and designated a local historic district in 1980.
