To mark the community kick off of the Arlington County Historic Preservation Master Plan (HPMP) update, the Historic Preservation Program (HPP) is holding a “Capture Your Heritage!” photo competition. To celebrate Arlington’s heritage and culture, we invite you to submit up to three (3) original photographs, either present or past. Arlington’s only single family home neighborhood with a local historic district designation, Maywood, has had overlay protection since 1990. At the time the district was established, the County also adopted the Maywood Design Guidelines. The guidelines had been updated in 2005 and in 2011.
