Of the homes, 10 were in North Arlington, 7 were in speculative tear downs by developers, two sold for over $1 million only to be demolished, and, two were located in National Register Historic Districts. August recorded a total of twenty demolition permits applications in Arlington County. Nineteen are for single family homes and one is for a commercial property. The commercial property was purchased by Arlington County for $3.4 million and will be demolished. Of the homes, three are in South Arlington. In May 2015, a total of twenty (20) demolition permits were applied for in Arlington County. Fifteen (15) are for single-family homes, two (2) are part for a major site redevelopment in the Courthouse area, and the remaining three (3) are for a detached garage (two are duplicate) and a swimming pool (4300 Old Dominion Drive).
