FOR SALE: Arlington Forest

Arlington Forest is celebrating its 75th year in 2014 so it is appropriate to highlight some of the great homes available in that community. These homes are known for their solid build and brick construction. The community is also extremely stable with substantial renovation and expansion being done by homeowners and virtually no teardowns. The original tree canopy provides a final benefit to the streetscape. While the community has its’ own shopping center and is home to the Lubber Run amphitheater it is also within walking distance of downtown Ballston. It is definitely one of Arlington’s best kept secrets. Arlington Forest is listed in the National Register of Historic of Historic Places and in the Virginia Landmarks Register, click here to see the 2005 nomination. It would be an excellent candidate for a local historic district which would help preserve the scale, design and open spaces which currently make the community so livable and enjoyable.

On occasion, Preservation Arlington will highlight unique historic houses that are on the market in Arlington County. We hope to raise awareness of some of the true housing gems we have here. Some might be in great condition and just need to be maintained by their next owner, while others may need a steward with heart and passion to restore and stabilize the property.
