The big news for 2021 is: 26 homes were purchased for over $1 million and then demolished. A home was purchased for $1.7 million in Ashton Heights and demolished. At least a dozen of the homes purchased over a $1 million were bought by developers and demolished. Over 1,750 homes GONE!

Over the last twelve years, 1,763 single family homes have been demolished in Arlington County. This is just over 6% of the total number of single family homes in the County. These numbers only account for complete demolitions and do not include major gutting of homes or major additions which are also dramatically changing the character of our single family home neighborhoods.
