For Rent: Arlington Lustron
One of Arlington last four remaining Lustron homes is now “For Rent”. If you ever wanted to live in one of these homes without the long term commitment of ownership or you have visions of a “Mad Men” lifestyle, now is your chance.
The 1250 sf 2 BR 1 BA home is located in the Arlington Heights neighborhood on South 7th Street. It has a large yard and off street parking. A number of exterior modifications beyond the original house have been made to the house — carport and sun room. But, The interior is in original condition (and that is a good thing) featuring the efficient sliding doors, built in cabinets and maintenance free metal walls. It really is pretty neat experience to be in a real live Lustron home. Are you ready to call it home?
The home is listed on craigslist for $2250 a month, click here for the listing.
Preservation Arlington has long been an advocate for the Lustron homes in Arlington. Concerns about the fate of the famous Arlington Lustron put it on our 2009 Most Endangered List and we were glad to report last summer that the NOMA Lustron is now part of a permanent exhibit at the Ohio Historical Society.
