Fifteen demolition permits for homes were applied for in Arlington County in October 2022. All were for single family homes. three of the homes are located in South Arlington with the remainder in North Arlington. Five of the homes were purchased in the last two years for over $1 million, only to be torn down.
Five of the homes are located in National Register Historic Districts. These districts provide no protection for the homes. The designation does provide an opportunity for tax credits for certain types of work done on the homes.
