In late 2020 the County went “live” with a new permitting system. In such demolition permits are tracked differently and we are still catching up to the new system.
In March a total of six demolition permits were applied for in Arlington County. Four were for single family homes and two were for commercial properties.
One of the commercial properties one, 2001 South Clark, is being redeveloped under an approved siteplan for Arlington County. The second, 2701 South Nelson, is part of a park improvement project and the last of several building the County has demolished.
Two of the properties are location in National Register Historic Districts:
1007 18th Street South is in the Aurora Highlands National Register Historic District;
1211 20th Street South is in the Aurora Highlands National Register Historic District;
