Wilson School Historic Designation Hearing

Arlington’s Historic Affairs and Landmark Review Board will take public comment at its January 21 Public Hearing on designating the Wilson School a local historic district. This is the first step in a public process. It is on the agenda for discussion at 7:45 pm. A copy of the agenda is available online.

The detailed staff report (click here) outlines the history of this building and its role in the growth of Arlington. The Wilson School is the longest operating school building in the County that is still owned by the County. Preservation Arlington has long supported the designation of this significant structure as a historic district and included it on the 2014 list of the County’s most endangered historic places.

Please plan to submit a letter or speak at the public hearing.
