In this month, 16 demolition permits for homes were applied for in Arlington County. All were for single family homes. Four of the homes are located in South Arlington with the remainder in North Arlington. Three of the homes were purchased in the last two years for over $1 million, only to be torn down.

Five of the homes are located in National Register Historic Districts. These districts provide no protection for the homes. The designation does provide an opportunity for tax credits for certain types of work done on the homes.
