LOST: April 2021
In late 2020 the County went “live” with a new permitting system. In such demolition permits are tracked differently and we are still catching up to the new system.
In April a total of thirteen demolition permits were applied for in Arlington County. Eleven were for single family homes and two were for a commercial properties. Of the homes, three are in South Arlington and at least four are speculative developments.
One of the commercial properties is the former Doctor’s Hospital on South Carlin Springs Road. It is unclear what the future is for that site.
Four of the properties are location in National Register Historic Districts. It is important to note that the tear down in Maywood is the result of a major fire in 2020.
