At their January 21 meeting the Arlington County Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board (HALRB) recommended historic designation for the original Wilson School Building and the front lawn. The HALRB found the application for designation met six of the eleven potential criteria for designation.

This is the first step in a process which will unfold over the coming months. The Planning Commission will also have a public hearing and provide a recommendation to The County Board. The County Board hearing on historic designation could be as early as May 2015.
