In the last 15 years, over 2200 single family homes have been demolished in Arlington. 2023 with 149 demolition, is in the top 10 highest total count since 2009 when Preservation Arlington began tracking demolitions. The highlights for 2023 include:
In December 8 demolition permits were applied for and all but one were for single family homes. Of the homes, all are in North Arlington. The majority (5 of 7) are in speculative tear downs by developers, with one having sold for over $1 million only to be demolished, and, four are located in National Register Historic Districts.
