Lost April 2023
This past April a total of thirteen demolitions permits were applied for in Arlington County. All were for single family homes with ten of them are in north Arlington and three in south Arlington. Just over half of the demolitions are speculative projects. The million dollar price tag for a tear down was on multiple properties this month but only four of them were on single lots.
A total of five of the properties were located in National Register Historic Districts. These districts provide some tax benefits to owners but do not offer an protection of the houses from demolition. The houses include:
