In March, only nine demolitions permits were applied for in Arlington County. All but one are for single family homes and all but one of them are in North Arlington. 63% of the demolitions are speculative projects with half of them from one builder alone. This month, half of the homes (4) sold for over $1 million only to be torn down. Although for two of them (25th Street and Vermont Street) the lots could accommodate more than one house, so these prices may not be for single lots. Same with Fillmore Street, although it did not sell for over $1m. The commercial property being demolished is a an older hotel in Crystal City/National Landing that is being redeveloped under an approved siteplan.
