Historic House for Sale: 3856 North Glebe Road
On occasion, Preservation Arlington will highlight unique historic houses that are on the market in Arlington County. We hope to raise awareness of some of the true housing gems we have here. Some might be in great condition and just need to be maintained by their next owner, while others may need a steward with heart and passion to restore and stabilize the property. These are not commercial listings or endorsements by Preservation Arlington.
An elegant 1925 farm house is for sale in the Old Glebe neighborhood of North Arlington, not far from the historic Walker Chapel. Click here for the listing, which touts the house’s “charming front porch with gingerbread and iron detailing, large living room with built-in bookshelves, large separate dining room,” and more. This house is its near-original, un-restored condition and provides an excellent opportunity for restoration and renovation by a caring owner!

I’ve driven past this fine older home a hundred times or more, and often thought I should stop and ask the owner about it, and take some photos, but never did.
Preservation Arlington: Please try and get some interior and exterior photos of the house while it is on the market. and please keep track of the sale to ensure maximum care is taken to prevent its demolition.
Thanks for bringing this house to public attention.
